Mission Statement:
The Michael S. DeLarco Foundation is committed to furthering Michael’s loving memory and spirit through supporting various children’s charitable organizations along with our continued dedication to improving rail safety.
How we started:On February 23, 2004, ten-year-old Michael DeLarco tragically lost his life after being struck by a Metra train in River Grove, IL. To honor his memory, Michael’s family and close friends founded the Michael S. DeLarco Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Soon after Michael’s passing, a family friend organized a golf outing in his memory, providing a day for loved ones to come together and celebrate Michael’s life. The first Annual Michael S. DeLarco Golf Outing took place in August 2004 and was a wonderful success.
Since then, the Foundation has continued hosting the Annual Golf Outing, using the funds raised to support community needs, contribute to projects at the River Grove station, and partner with the Alexian Brothers Foundation. These outings are cherished opportunities for family and friends to have fun, share memories, and remember Michael’s loving, generous, and extraordinary spirit.
