The 18th Annual Michael S. DeLarco Golf Outing was a very special day filled with laughter, friendship, and most importantly it was a day that we shared together in remembrance of Michael. We are thankful to all our guests who joined us for golf and dinner, along with their generosity by participating in all the raffles and other events of the day. We enjoyed all the enthusiasm that was shown and felt the love that surrounded us. A good time seemed to be had by all!
The main purpose of the golf outing has always been to spend the day remembering Michael, but we also fundraise with the hopes of being successful in achieving our goals. We are pleased to share that our profit from the golf outing is $12,000. With some of the profits from the 2023 golf outing, we will be funding the purchase of additional Brave Gowns to be distributed to children who are patients at Ascension Saint Alexius Hospital. Last year a portion of our proceeds supported a substantial order of Brave Gowns, and the children just love them! The gowns come in various fun patterns for them to choose from and wearing a Brave Gown uplifts their spirits and helps them feel brave. The hospital also has a new staff member, Link the hospital dog! The Michael S. DeLarco Foundation is excited to be able to provide funding for Link’s care with proceeds from the golf outing. Link is a 16-month-old Golden Retriever-Labrador-Poodle who will provide specialized, full-time support to patients, families, and staff. Link will be a calm and supporting presence for individuals during stressful times. As a hospital dog, Link will work with one of his handlers onsite at Ascension Saint Alexius eight hours a day, five days a week. He will also interact with patients and visitors, along with physicians, hospital staff and volunteers. Link was a special guest at the golf outing, along with Katie his handler. We were so thrilled that Link was able to spend some time with us during the dinner portion of our event and he was such a good boy who brought smiles to all!!
The outing was such a success in so many ways and we want to express our sincere appreciation to all the golfers, dinner guests, hole sponsors, event sponsors, all who donated raffle prizes and monetary gifts. To our committee and many volunteers for their love, devotion and countless hours of time spent that comes with coordinating a golf outing.
The Michael S. DeLarco Foundation has been successful in reaching its goals over the years because of all the generous financial support received and commitment to our cause. Thank you for your trust in us, and for working together with us, our sentiments could never convey the gratitude we have in our hearts. With you, we are making a difference in the lives of children and that sure is a great feeling!
